I’ve been taking music classes and private lessons with Jeff for the past 5 years . I find that no matter the material , he is extremely knowledgeable and able to adapt on the fly .

Jeff poses what most people in today’s world seem to be missing ; kindness , patience and empathy . Especially with the youth classes . He relates with the kids on a their level .

I highly recommend Jeff and Southcoast lessons whether you are an experienced player wanting to try something new , a beginner or looking for your child to start their musical journey .

Fun class- learning new material every time

Jeff is a wonderful instructor who teaches students at different levels on different instruments and as an individual I always get what I need from each class. I really enjoy learning the history of music as well as the tune itself. Great community within the class.

Excellent lesson!

Jeff is an awesome teacher! He took me from knowing nothing on the mandolin, to learning many songs and how to pick them up quickly, to playing publicly in sessions around New Bedford with many other musicians. I didn't think that was possible as a middle-aged parent and always felt I'd missed the bandwagon of being a string musician, always a little jealous of people freely playing socially. Can't recommend Jeff enough as a patient teacher having developed a social, nurturing environment for people to collectively make mistakes along the way to having a lot of fun. I've seen many older people pick up many instruments with him from zero knowledge, including the scary ones, like violin. Have fun - try his lessons -
